Thallus+- erect (A. sarmentosa is decumbent), up to 10 cm, yellowish-greenish (A. nigricans is darker); pseudocyphellae present. Cortex KC+ yellow (A. nigricans is KC+ red, A. sarmentosa KC- or KC+ red).
