Corticolous; on deciduous trees; +- common.

Upper surface grey and smooth, with delimited laminal and marginal soralia arising from white punctiform pseudocyphellae; lower surface pale (difference to Parmelia sulcata); differences to Punctelia jeckeri (see there).
Medulla and soralia C+ red and KC+ red.
