Corticolous; on bark of deciduous trees. Not very common.
Thallus consisting of erect minute lobes with incised and sorediate ends; lower side whitish, with pale rhizines (see lower image).
No spot reactions.
Resembles to Xanthoria candelaria. Distinct by the more greenish-yellow to lemon-yellow colour and the negative K-reaction.
Central Europe; Germany: Hesse.
